More than 2,000 people are expected to join in the fifth annual Friendship Walk on Sunday, March 21, 2010. The event is sponsored by the Friendship Circle of Agoura Hills, a non-profit organization which provides programming for children with special needs and their families.

The Friendship Walk is an annual vehicle for volunteers, families and friends of Friendship Circle to show their appreciation and support through an exciting fundraising opportunity. This fun-filled event is attended by a broad cross-section of people who come together to demonstrate their solidarity and support.

The event begins at 12:00 PM with the opening ceremony and pep rally at Willow Elementary School, 29026 Laro Dr. Agoura Hills, followed by a 5K walk that will start and conclude at Willow Elementary with a variety of family oriented activities, refreshments and entertainment until 3:30 PM.

This year's feature entertainment is The African Acrobats. Comprised of a well orchestrated African team, they bring together gymnastics, jumping, juggling, balancing, contortionist, human pyramid building group and more. The group recently completed its second tenure at the Walt Disney Parks, performing at the main Disney land park. African Acrobats have also performed at different halftime shows for the Houston Rockets, Minnesota Timberwolves, Portland Trailblazers and the Philadelphia 76ERS.

Registration for the walk is free, and every registered walker receives a free Friendship Walk T-shirt. Registration opens at 11:00am at Willow Elementary School Located at 29026 Laro Dr. Agoura Hills . Online Registration is encouraged.

Last year's Friendship Walk drew more than 1,200 participants and raised over $185,000. This year's goal is $200,000, which will be used to expand the services and activities that the Friendship Circle offers to more than 200 families throughout Southern California.

The Friendship Circle, a non-profit organization founded in 2003, has a refreshing approach to helping families of children with special needs. More than 400 volunteers bring the spirit of true friendship and unconditional acceptance to the hundreds of children who participate in over a dozen weekly recreational, social and educational programs, as well as summer and winter camps.
